The head of the local environmental protection department, Saber Afhami, told the newspaper that the newborn turtle was in good health, the newspaper wrote.
The rare turtle arrived into this world in the company of another, less odd-looking single-headed, one. Saber Afhami held out hope that scientists would look into the cause of this unusual phenomenon.

日期为2月9日,2016年罕见的海龟named ‘Alby’ and according to the volunteers this one was taking his time. His brothers and sisters had hatched last Friday, but Alby was still in the nest on Sunday.
While counting the empty shells to see how many turtles had made it to the ocean, the group found the animal still sitting on the top of the nest.
According to an expert at the Queensland's Threatened Species Unit, the instance of albino hatchlings “occurs at the rate of one in many hundreds of thousands of eggs,” making this turtle very rare indeed, ABC Australia reported. “Normally they don't survive coming out of the nest and when they do they're abnormal and not well suited to the environment, which means the chance of survival is very slim,” the scientist added. It was reported that the albino turtles are not well suited to the environment, as they have no color; they have no camouflage, making them easy prey for larger sea creatures.
It looks like this albino turtle might have a future, though, “It walked very energetically from the nest down to the sea and happily swam away,” group president Leigh Warneminde said.
