Secret History of Stonehenge Revealed

David Keys
The Independent, UK
Sat, 26 Nov 2011

Extraordinary new discoveries are shedding new light on why Britain's most famous ancient site, Stonehenge, was built - and when.

Current research is now suggesting that Stonehenge may already have been an important sacred site at least 500 years before the first Stone circle was erected - and that the sanctity of its location may have determined the layout of key aspects of the surrounding sacred landscape.

What's more, the new investigation - being carried out by archaeologists from the universities' of Birmingham, Bradford and Vienna - massively increases the evidence linking Stonehenge to pre-historic solar religious beliefs. It increases the likelihood that the site was originally and primarily associated with sun worship

The investigations have also enabled archaeologists to putatively reconstruct the detailed route of a possible religious procession or other ritual event which they suspect may have taken place annually to the north of Stonehenge.

That putative pre-historic religious 'procession' (or, more specifically, the evidence suggesting its route) has implications for understanding Stonehenge's prehistoric religious function - and suggests that the significance of the site Stonehenge now occupies emerged earlier than has previously been appreciated.

The crucial new archaeological evidence was discovered during on-going survey work around Stonehenge in which archaeologists have been 'x-raying' the ground, using ground-penetrating radar and other geophysical investigative techniques. As the archaeological team from Birmingham and Vienna were using these high-tech systems to map the interior of a major prehistoric enclosure (the so-called 'Cursus') near Stonehenge, they discovered two great pits, one towards the enclosure's eastern end, the other nearer its western end.

When they modelled the relationship between these newly-discovered Cursus pits and Stonehenge on their computer system, they realised that, viewed from the so-called 'Heel Stone' at Stonehenge, the pits were aligned with sunrise and sunset on the longest day of the year - the summer solstice (midsummer's day). The chances of those two alignments being purely coincidental are extremely low.

The archaeologists then began to speculate as to what sort of ritual or ceremonial activity might have been carried out at and between the two pits. In many areas of the world, ancient religious and other ceremonies sometimes involved ceremonially processing round the perimeters of monuments. The archaeologists therefore thought it possible that the prehistoric celebrants at the Cursus might have perambulated between the two pits by processing around the perimeter of the Cursus.

Initially this was pure speculation - but then it was realized that there was, potentially a way of trying to test the idea. On midsummer's day there are in fact three key alignments - not just sunrise and sunset, but also midday (the highest point the sun reaches in its annual cycle). For at noon the key alignment should be due south.

One way to test the 'procession' theory (or at least its route) was for the archaeologists to demonstrate that the midway point on that route had indeed a special relationship with Stonehenge (just as the two pits - the start and end point of the route - had). The 'eureka moment' came when the computer calculations revealed that the midway point (the noon point) on the route aligned directly with the center of Stonehenge, which was precisely due south.

This realization that the sun hovering over the site of Stonehenge at its highest point in the year appears to have been of great importance to prehistoric people, is itself of potential significance. For it suggests that the site's association with the veneration of the sun was perhaps even greater than previously realized.

But the discovery of the Cursus pits, the discovery of the solar alignments and of the putative 'processional' route, reveals something else as well - something that could potentially turn the accepted chronology of the Stonehenge landscape on its head.

几十年来,现代考古学认为上海四通ehenge was a relative latecomer to the area - and that the other large monument in that landscape - the Cursus - pre-dated it by up to 500 years.

However, the implication of the new evidence is that, in a sense, the story may have been the other way round, i.e. that the site of Stonehenge was sacred before the Cursus was built, says Birmingham archaeologist, Dr. Henry Chapman, who has been modelling the alignments on the computerized reconstructions of the Stonehenge landscape

The argument for this is simple, yet persuasive. Because the 'due south' noon alignment of the 'procession' route's mid-point could not occur if the Cursus itself had different dimensions, the design of that monument has to have been conceived specifically to attain that mid-point alignment with the center of Stonehenge.

更重要的是,如果是这样的话,巨石阵的跟圣one location had to have been of ritual significance before the Cursus pits were dug (because their alignments are as perceived specifically from the Heel Stone).

Those two facts, when taken together, therefore imply that the site, later occupied by the stones of Stonehenge, was already sacred before construction work began on the Cursus. Unless the midday alignment is a pure coincidence (which is unlikely), it would imply that the Stonehenge site's sacred status isat least 500 years older than previously thought- a fact which raises an intriguing possibility.

For45 years ago, archaeologists found an 8000 BC Mesolithic ('Middle' Stone Age) ritual site in what is now Stonehenge's car park. The five thousand year gap between that Mesolithic sacred site and Stonehenge itself meant that most archaeologists thought that 'sacred' continuity between the two was inherently unlikely. But, with the new discoveries, the time gap has potentially narrowed. Indeed, it's not known for how long the site of Stonehenge was sacred prior to the construction of the Cursus. So, very long term traditions of geographical sanctity in relation to Britain's and the world's best known ancient monument, may now need to be considered.

The University of Birmingham Stonehenge area survey - the largest of its type ever carried out anywhere in the world - will take a further two years to complete, says Professor Vince Gaffney, the director the project.

Virtually every square meter in a five square mile area surrounding the world most famous pre-historic monument will be examined geophysically to a depth of up to two metres, he says.

It's anticipated that dozens, potentially hundreds of previously unknown sites will be discovered as a result of the operation.

The ongoing discoveries in Stonehenge's sacred prehistoric landscape - being made by Birmingham's archaeologists and colleagues from the University of Vienna's Ludwig Boltzmann Institute - are expected to transform scholars' understanding of the famous monument's origins, history and meaning.

Archaeological discovery provides evidence of a celestial procession at Stonehenge

Archaeologists led by the University of Birmingham with the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Archaeological Prospection have discovered evidence of two huge pits positioned on celestial alignment at Stonehenge. Shedding new light on the significant association of the monument with the sun, these pits may have contained tall stones, wooden posts or even fires to mark its rising and setting and could have defined a processional route used by agriculturalists to celebrate the passage of the sun across the sky at the summer solstice.

Positioned within the Cursus pathway, the pits are on alignment towards midsummer sunrise and sunset when viewed from the Heel Stone, the enigmatic stone standing just outside the entrance to Stonehenge. For the first time, this discovery may directly link the rituals and celestial phenomena at Stonehenge to activities within the Cursus.

The international archaeological survey team, led by the University of Birmingham's IBM Visual and Spatial Technology Centre (VISTA), with the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Archaeological Prospection and Virtual Archaeology in Vienna (LBI ArchPro) have also discovered a previously unknown gap in the middle of the northern side of the Cursus, which may have provided the main entrance and exit point for processions that took place within the pathway. Stretching from west to east, the Cursus is an immense linear enclosure, 100 metres wide and two and a half kilometres across, north of Stonehenge.

文斯加夫尼教授考古学家和项目leader from the IBM Visual and Spatial Technology Centre at the University of Birmingham, explains: "This is the first time we have seen anything quite like this at Stonehenge and it provides a more sophisticated insight into how rituals may have taken place within the Cursus and the wider landscape. These exciting finds indicate that even though Stonehenge was ultimately the most important monument in the landscape, it may at times not have been the only, or most important, ritual focus and the area of Stonehenge may have become significant as a sacred site at a much earlier date.

"Other activities were carried out at other ceremonial sites only a short distance away. The results from this new survey help us to appreciate just how complex these activities were and how intimate these societies were with the natural world. The perimeter of the Cursus may well have defined a route guiding ceremonial processions which took place on the longest day of the year."

Archaeologists have understood for a long time that Stonehenge was designed to mark astronomical events, built by farming societies whose everyday concerns with growing crops linked their daily lives to the passage of the seasons and in particular the sun, on which their livelihoods depended. This new evidence raises exciting questions about how complex rituals within the Stonehenge landscape were conducted and how processions along or around the Cursus were organised at the time Stonehenge was in use.

Professor Gaffney adds: "It now seems likely that other ceremonial monuments in the surrounding landscape were directly articulated with rituals at Stonehenge. It is possible that processions within the Cursus moved from the eastern pit at sunrise, continuing eastwards along the Cursus and, following the path of the sun overhead, and perhaps back to the west, reaching the western pit at sunset to mark the longest day of the year. Observers of the ceremony would have been positioned at the Heel Stone, of which the two pits are aligned."

Dr Henry Chapman, Senior Lecturer in Archaeology and Visualisation observes: "If you measure the walking distance between the two pits, the procession would reach exactly half-way at midday, when the sun would be directly on top of Stonehenge. This is more than just a coincidence, indicating that the exact length of the Cursus and the positioning of the pits are of significance."

Stonehenge, while certainly the most important monument in the later Neolithic and Bronze Age landscape, was surrounded by a dense concentration of other sacred sites, some of which were already ancient when Stonehenge itself was built. The team has also revealed a new horseshoe arrangement of large pits north-east of Stonehenge which may have also contained posts and, together with the henge-like monument discovered last year and a number of other small monuments, may have functioned as minor shrines, perhaps serving specific communities visiting the ceremonial centre.

Paul Garwood, Lecturer in Prehistory at the University of Birmingham, comments: "Our knowledge of the ancient landscapes that once existed around Stonehenge is growing dramatically as we examine the new geophysical survey results. We can see in rich detail not only new monuments, but entire landscapes of past human activity, over thousands of years, preserved in sub-surface features such as pits and ditches. This project is establishing a completely new framework for studying the Stonehenge landscape."

These new discoveries have come to light as part of the Stonehenge Hidden Landscape Project, which began in summer 2010 as the world's biggest-ever virtual excavation using the latest geophysical imaging techniques to reveal and visually recreate the extraordinary prehistoric landscape surrounding Stonehenge.

Professor Wolfgang Neubauer, Director of the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute, adds: "The LBI provides the best academics, technicians and young researchers in a team of 20 people and uses multiple systems designed for use on projects where the scale of work was previously unachievable. The use of non-invasive technologies provides information for virtual archaeologies that can be disseminated to the public via the web, iPad or mobile phone."

Dr Christopher Gaffney, lecturer in Archaeological Geophysics at the University of Bradford, concludes:

"Building on our work from last year we have added even more techniques and instruments to study this remarkable landscape. It is clear that one technique is not adequate to study the complexity of the monuments and landscape surrounding our most important archaeological monument and the battery of techniques used here has significantly increased the certainty of our interpretation."

http://www.sott.net/articles/show/168415-Ultrasound-Shown-To-Exert-Remote-Control-Of-Brain-Circuits said:
In a twist on nontraditional uses of ultrasound, a group of neuroscientists at Arizona State University has developed pulsed ultrasound techniques that canremotely stimulate brain circuit activity.

Their findings, published in the Oct. 29 issue of the journal Public Library of Science (PLoS) One, provide insights into how low-power ultrasound can be harnessed for the noninvasive neurostimulation of brain circuits and offers the potential for new treatments of brain disorders and disease.

"Studies of ultrasound and its interactions with biological tissues have a rich history dating back to the late 1920s," lead investigator William "Jamie" Tyler points out. "Several research groups have, for more than a half-century, demonstrated that ultrasound can produce changes in excitable tissues, such as nerve and/or muscle, but detailed studies in neurons at the cellular level have been lacking."

"We were able to unravel how ultrasound can stimulate the electrical activity of neurons by optically monitoring the activity of neuronal circuits, while we simultaneously propagated low-intensity, low-frequency ultrasound through brain tissues," says Tyler, assistant professor of neurobiology and bioimaging in the School of Life Sciences in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Led by Tyler, the ASU research group discovered that remotely delivered low intensity, low frequency ultrasound (LILFU) increased the activity of voltage-gated sodium and calcium channels in a manner sufficient to trigger action potentials and the release of neurotransmitter from synapses. Since these processesare fundamental to thetransfer of information among neurons, the authors pose that this type of ultrasound provides a powerful new tool for modulating the activity of neural circuits.

[...]

"We were quite surprised to find thatultrasound at power levels lower than those typically used in routine diagnostic medical imaging procedures could produce an increase in the activity of neurons while higher power levels produced very little effect on their activity," Tyler says.

Other neuroscientists and engineers have also been rapidly developing new neurostimulation methods for controlling nervous system activity and several approaches show promise for the treatment of a wide variety of nervous system disorders. For example, Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) and Vagal Nerve Stimulation (VNS) have been shown to be effective in the management of psychiatric disorders such as depression, bipolar disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, and drug addition, as well as for therapies of neurological diseases such as Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, Tourette Syndrome, epilepsy, dystonia, stuttering, tinnitus, recovery of cognitive and motor function following stroke, and chronic pain. Up until now, these two techniques have captured the attention of physicians and scientists; however, these therapies still pose risks to patients because they require the surgical implantation of stimulating electrodes. Thus, these types of therapies are often only available to patients presenting the worst of prognoses.

One prior stumbling block to using ultrasound noninvasively in the brain has been the skull. However, the acoustic frequencies utilized by Tyler and his colleagues to construct their pulsed ultrasound waveforms, overlap with a frequency range where optimal energy gains are achieved between transcranial transmission and brain absorption of ultrasound - which allows the ultrasound to penetrate bone and yet prevent damage to the soft tissues. Their findings are supported by other studies examining the potential of high-intensity focused ultrasound for ablating brain tissues, where it was shown thatlow-frequency ultrasound could be focused through human skulls.

[...]

"Obviously, we need to conduct further research and development, but one of the most exhilarating prospects is thatlow intensity, low frequency ultrasound permit deep-brain stimulation procedures without requiring exogenous proteins or surgically implanted medical devices," he adds.

Resonance is an acoustic property, is it not?

It is not a property. Resonance occurs when any external wave corresponds some internal natural cycles. In acoustics there are standing waves. F = 340 m/s / 2*l, where l is length of room.
Electric LC resonance is based on time of charge/discharge of inductance/capacitor. Electric 1/4 resonance is based on standing waves.
Magnetic resonance in based on frequency of hydrogen atom spinning under external magnetic field.
F = B / 23.475 and is about 2khz for 50 uT magnetic field.

I had this wallpaper for awhile now. Just now, I was listening to SOTT talk radio and looking at my wallpaper unconsciously and thinking about the show when then I noticed a white, transparent human-like character in the bottom right corner of the Sun rays.

Now, you might say that it's a human illuminated by the Sun, but aren't real physical humans black when they are in front of a sunset like in the second picture?

Looks to me as if there was a figure in the original photo that has been badly photo shopped to try and remove them and so clean up the horizon line. I don’t think it’s a ‘light being’!

Not sure it really added much to the thread either.

I recently read this article. A lot of lights started going off in the old brain. It is incredible that this stuff is just floating around out there on the internet.

In this article, the incredible thing to me was that Stonehenge seems to be an adjunct feature of a much, much larger neolithic structure. This structure is still in the process of discovery - currently, it comprises a geometrical arrangement that consists of Durrington Walls, Durrington Shafts, Woodhenge, and Stonehenge. The article details the precise geometric layout of the imperfect 'D' circle, with Stonehenge places just so at 63 degrees. It is alleged that the builders of these monuments were the Grooved Ware culture - although, they might be a red herring. Further research is required to understand the Grooved Ware dudes and their relationship to the Hyperboreans, as well as the two other groups who were rumoured to be around at the proposed construction date of 2670-2550 BC.

I had recently watched a video by Randall Carlson regarding his version of Sacred Geometry. He describes in a clear and detailed discussion the symbolic language of the universe.

He begins with geometry of the Platonic solids. Each of these 'Platonic numbers' has a whole collection of phenomena associated with it - space, time, the architecture of the solar system, as well as the precise design of many Megaliths are all 'zones of application'. In effect, he's describing the symbolic language of the universe. These Platonic numbers are not just descriptors of what we might call Objective Reality. These numbers may actually bethe means by which Objective Reality exists in 3D.In other words, they are the symbolic locators that transduce directly from the cosmic information field.

The implication here is that there IS an essential cosmic framework for information. And, of one were aiming to connect to the Information Field, understanding these numbers is paramount. One cannot make use of them without understanding them. A simple analogy is that of reiki - if one uses incorrect symbols, or uses the symbols incorrectly, the desired effect (healing) is not produced. Correct use of Platonic numbers seems to open up a limitless field of possibilities. To me, it seems that what Randall has uncovered here is a clear, scientific way of exploring one key mystery of the neolith builders -their ancient technology of space and time.

Full video of Randall here:

The number 144 is mentioned throughout this Stonehenge article above. I wrote about this number in particular a little while ago, and the number literally jumped out at me. In a previous post, I wrote:

Randall Carlson gives his take on the number 144,000 mentioned in the Book of Revelation, and the "singing of a new song". I thought it important to add the information from the C's, which also discusses this, but adds more nuance. In light of the info from this session, it's looking like Carlson takes an overly-optimistic approach to the acquisition of Knowledge. He seems to suggest that this section only applies to 'peeps in the white t-shirts', whereas the C's say that the Knowledge acquisition encoded in this section of the Bible applies to 'peeps in the black t-shirts' as well:

Q: (L) "And I heard a voice from Heaven like the sound of
great waters and like the rumbling of might thunder and
the voice I heard seemedlike the music of harpists
accompanying themselves on their harps
..." What is this
voice from heaven and the sound like great waters and
mighty thunder?
A: The return of Christ.
Q: (L) "And they sing a new song... No one could learn to
sing that song except the 144,000 who had been ransomed
from the earth... you said the 144,000 are the leaders of
the world bank and here it says they have been ransomed
from the earth at the coming of Christ... it says the
144,000 have not defiled themselves by relations with
women for they are pure as virgins. These are they who
follow the Lamb wherever he goes...they have been
ransomed..."
A: Symbolism added later and this is not entirely accurate
point. The symbols have been mixed. Tends to encourage
elitism and divisiveness.
问:(L)是我们144000好人或坏人would term
them?
A: Both. But they are ones who have supreme knowledge.
Q: (L) Are these human beings?

A: Yes.
Q: (L) There will be 144,000 people on the earth who have
supreme knowledge?
A: Approximately.
Q: (L) Now, this 144,000, are we among that number? Just
curious.
A: Maybe.

So we are gathering clues. We have Stonehenge, the symoblic language of the cosmos that allows access to the Information Field (Platonic Numbers), we have the number 144,a new songpredicted by the Book of Revelation, an ancient technology of space and time, and the notion that Stonehenge was part of a much larger neolithic structure.

What else can we add to this exploration?

The article suggests that what we are looking at here is a vast, 'sonic wind' temple, with interesting insights into several pieces that came together in CatHoM - VLF frequencies, DNA changes, shamanic transformation, subliminal emotional states, etc.

Sonic Temple

Rodney Hale suggests that for the pits to be used as sound resonators the deliberate introduction of wind would have been necessary. Wind crossing the lip of a shaft would have invoked oscillations or vibrations, whilst air traveling to the bottom and back up again would have reinforced this process. The efficiency of such structures could have been enhanced still further by the creation of a roof-like structure with holes. The result would have been extremely deep sounds that were more felt or experienced than heard.

A Magnificent Chorus of Noise

The generation of sound vibration at such low frequencies would very easily have been carried on a sub-audible level through the earth in the same manner as seismic waves. This could have enabled communication between distant points, in particular features displaying the same resonant frequency range as the shafts themselves. As Hale makes clear, on windy days the shafts would have produced a magnificent chorus of noise that could have been detected across an extended distance.

In Britain it is usually the early part of winter that is the wettest and windiest time of the year, making it likely that this is when Durrington Shafts would have been at their fullest potential.A person in their vicinity with strong winds blowing may have experienced deep subliminal feelings from the resulting low vibrational sound. We may never know for certain how they interpreted this, or why it was important. However, there is evidence to suggest that the Grooved Ware culture were strongly focused spiritually on ancestor veneration and so perhaps this sound was considered a sign that the ancestors were returning to this world.

Interestingly, the notion of neolithic monuments being sonic temples is not new:

Sonic Pattern of the Universe

建议杜灵顿沙fts functioned as an enormous sonic temple constructed within the Stonehenge landscape might seem far-fetched. Yet it is a fact that as far back as 1969 English Earth mysteries visionaryJohn Michell(1933-2009), the author of various thought-providing books on the megalithic mindset, imagined Woodhenge as a giant Aeolian harp emitting unearthly sounds as wind passed through its concentric rings of wooden posts, each linked by a series of cords of varying lengths and thicknesses. In his words, Woodhenge “appears to have been a stringed musical instrument laid out according to the plan of the universe (Michell,The View Over Atlantis,1969, 122).” For him the construction of the monument conformed to a “sonic pattern of the universe” known to the megalithic builders of Britain andrediscovered millennia later by Pythagoras and his followers.

Who knows if Michell was correct, but looks like he was onto something about the sonic nature of these megaliths, given what the C's have told us about 'singing stones'.

This latest find, the Durrington shafts, which are each approximately five meters deep and 10 meters in diameter (16.5 by 33 ft), are now theorized to have been designed as Frequency Resonance Generators - earthen sonic instruments that were designed to 'sing' as the winds of the area moved over them.

The article ends with a discussion of 144, and the Schumann resonance. Keep in mind what the C's said about the 144,000 in the quote above, the return of Christ, and the 'singing of a new song':
Michell’s words now take on a new meaning in the knowledge that Woodhenge, being just a few hundred meters south of Durrington Walls, falls within the great circle defined by Durrington Shafts. It might also be no coincidence that the maximum diameter of Woodhenge’s outer ring of posts is 144 feet, the same unit of length defining not only the size of Durrington Walls but also the precise distance between the center of Durrington Shafts’ flattened circle and the center of Stonehenge. What then is the significance of this recurring distance? Why might the megalithic builders have been so interested in employing its use in the layout and placement of their monuments?

Schumann’s Resonance

The answer perhaps lies in the fact that the harmonic frequency of 144 feet is 7.85 Hz, meaning that the wavelength of 7.85 Hz, in other words its distance of travel from high pressure to low pressure back to high pressure again, is 144 feet. The first higher harmonic of 7.85 Hz is 15.7 Hz, corresponding with the resonant frequency range calculated in connection with Durrington Shafts in their role as sound resonators.

Perhaps not unrelated is the fact that the fundamental frequency of the Schumann resonance, the oscillation of the Earth’s atmosphere triggered most obviously by lightning flashes anywhere in the world, is itself 7.85 Hz. Even though the Schumann resonance is a radio frequency (RF) and not a sound frequency, the fact that its frequency corresponds with that of the 144 feet wavelength distance found in connection with Stonehenge, Woodhenge and Durrington Walls is curious indeed.

What I'm curious about is how these Platonic Numbers are applicable to sound, space, time, megalithic architecture, solar system measurements. What can there be here to learn as we stand on the cusp of the new science of Information Theory? And what might we learn about ourselves? There is something here about the number 144 and the harmonious measurement of men and of angels in Revelations 21. We can read 'city' below as megalith.
And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof. And the city lieth foursqaure, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs.

12,000. Roughly around the number of years since the impact that destroyed Atlantis - remember that Platonic numbers have many zones of application. S 21 continues:

The length and the breadth of it are equal.

This is mentioned twice in short succession, suggesting the reader to pay close attention to the equality or 'justice' or widespread applicability of the numbers mentioned. S 21 concludes:

And he measured the wall thereof, a hundred and forty four cubits (144!),according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.

How could man be equated with an angel? 'The length and breadth of it are equal'. An angel, also known as a messenger of the gods. How could man be a messenger of the gods?

在讨论我们不能去太远的巨石阵without mentioning our old pals the Hyperboreans who ostensibly built the megalithic structure. A brief review of the Hyperboreans:

And it seems to be a reasonable assumption that the "southern influence," including Egypt, was that of the "Atlanteans" of Plato, and that the "northern influence," including the builders of Stonehenge, were the "Athenians" of Plato, the "Sons of Boreas,"or the North Wind, keeping in mind that these "Athenians" were obviously not from Athens as we know it today, though we are beginning to suspect that we know who they were.

How could man be a messenger of the gods? In CatHom, we read:
Referring back to the apparent northern origin of Apollo leads me to this point: Pythagoras was associated with the 'Hyperborean Apollo' also, and one of the links between Socrates and Pythagoras is that they both practiced占卜的一种形式.

Also in CatHom, we also read a quote from Hecataues about the name of the Hyperboreans:

Of those who have written about the ancient myths, Hecateus and certain others say that in the regionbeyond the land of the Celts(Gaul) there lies in the ocean an island no smaller than Sicily. This island, the account continues, is situated in the north, and is inhabited by the Hyperboreans, who are called by that name because their home is beyond the point whence the north wind blows; and the land is both fertile and productive of every crop, and sinceit has an unusually temperate climateit produces two harvests each year.

To reiterate, the Durrington shafts are thought to have been designed as Frequency Resonance Generators -earthen sonic instruments that were designed to 'sing' as the winds of the area moved over them.

I posit that this may be the reality behind the name of the Hyperboreans. The mention of 'wind' in the above historical description is a historically-loaded hint whose real meaning was lost in the drift of history.

Sons of the North Wind indeed!

Absolutely fascinating@iamthatis!只是想说谢谢发帖. .C的remarks about Stonehenge have been some of the most interesting things ever to me..Must go and re-read them all soon. The thing they said about a "tonal rill" has been floating around in my brain for years..

Underground shafts... England... Crop circles... Sound... I always wondered, why does England get by far the most crop circles?

Also reminds me of the novel 'Re: Colonised Planet 5, Shikasta' by Doris Lessing, which I started reading a couple years ago but got sidetracked and haven't yet finished. It reminds me more of Beelzebub's Tales to His Grandson more than anything else, and I think Doris Lessing was into Gurdjieff.. Anyway, the book has a bunch of stuff near the start about ancient cities made of 'Stones' (always capitalised), placed in precise geometrical relations in specific places on the planet, which generated beneficial sound waves which communicated healing/bounty-producing energies from 'Canopus', which were later corrupted and started generating harmful sound waves (energy from 'Shammat') which made people sick and plants die - but people became addicted to these bad sounds which acted on them like an intoxicant.. IIRC.

Anyway. You set my brain a'buzzing.. Thanks :)

Interestingly, the notion of neolithic monuments being sonic temples is not new:

What I'm curious about is how these Platonic Numbers are applicable to sound, space, time, megalithic architecture, solar system measurements. What can there be here to learn as we stand on the cusp of the new science of Information Theory? And what might we learn about ourselves? There is something here about the number 144 and the harmonious measurement of men and of angels in Revelations 21. We can read 'city' below as megalith.

12,000. Roughly around the number of years since the impact that destroyed Atlantis - remember that Platonic numbers have many zones of application. S 21 continues:

This is mentioned twice in short succession, suggesting the reader to pay close attention to the equality or 'justice' or widespread applicability of the numbers mentioned. S 21 concludes:

How could man be equated with an angel? 'The length and breadth of it are equal'. An angel, also known as a messenger of the gods. How could man be a messenger of the gods?

在讨论我们不能去太远的巨石阵without mentioning our old pals the Hyperboreans who ostensibly built the megalithic structure. A brief review of the Hyperboreans:

How could man be a messenger of the gods? In CatHom, we read:

Also in CatHom, we also read a quote from Hecataues about the name of the Hyperboreans:

To reiterate, the Durrington shafts are thought to have been designed as Frequency Resonance Generators -earthen sonic instruments that were designed to 'sing' as the winds of the area moved over them.

I posit that this may be the reality behind the name of the Hyperboreans. The mention of 'wind' in the above historical description is a historically-loaded hint whose real meaning was lost in the drift of history.

Sons of the North Wind indeed!
Woah thanks! I didn't read the Cs sessions about the Megaliths builders in a while, but these people seemed to have been more advanced than us in many respects.
We could ask the chateau crew to ask the Cs about those measurements, I don't really know how to formulate it. Did the Neolithics peoples already knew the Platonic numbers, the Shumann frequency, did they use it? I wonder if we have the knowledge to reproduce the structures they built...

Yes, formulating a good question is hard. But yes, reproducing something like Stonehenge - that would be incredible. Sort of like trying to build a nuclear reactor just by looking at the ruins of Chernobyl...

I wonder if afullunderstanding of Platonic solids - and therefore, all of these 'Platonic numbers' associated with them - are key in developing the new science of Information Theory? It seems that these numbers are like the letters in a cosmic alphabet. And this alphabet is arranged in a system of meaning - a language. Does this language may apply at all scales and all times? In the quantum realm, for instance?

I don’t know for sure but if Druids and celts are direct descendents of the Atlanteas, and they kept the knowledge through generations, and Remember same people who build the pyramids (Atlanteans descendants I mean), most likely the answer could be yes? I mean, the Cs said that the Atlantis civilization was far and way more advanced than ours so.
