This is an extended Welcome post - with added links to certain important threads or articles - for readers wishing to delve deeper into the material discussed here:

Welcome to the forum. :)

Don't forget to check outTips and advice for Newbies和theForum Guidelines.

You might also want to read through theDiet and Health,theEE-Breathing Programthreads and theRecommended books: List and GuideYou also might be interested in theKnowledge and Beingvideo made by Laura. It serves as an introduction to some of the concepts discussed here on the forum.

In the meantime, it's a good idea to download theCasswikipdf, as it is a very useful reference that can be used when you encounter concepts/terminology that you may not be familiar with. It should be consulted before posting questions on the forum.

For anyone interested in theCassiopaean experiment, we discourage reading the raw transcripts, as this can lead to a lot of confusion and misunderstandings. Rather, we strongly advise to read them in context, that is in theWaveseries andAdventures with Cassiopaea.

The ideas ofGurdjieffare integral to this forum. If you're not familiar with Gurdjieff, you can read some basic information about his4th Way teaching, generally referred to here as "the Work", by clicking on the links in this paragraph. It is a method of self-examination recommended to and practiced by most members of this forum, as a way of seeing ourselves, others, and the world around us from the perspective ofOBJECTIVITY, rather than through the distorting prism of our own主体性-- i.e., our emotional issues, programs, mechanical behaviour, buffers, sacred cows, andwishful thinking. The Work benefits from active participation in a group/network like this, where others also involved in the Work can provide feedback and act as amirrorin which we can see ourselves more clearly. The textThe First Initiationwritten by Mme Jeanne de Salzmann is a must read. Two concepts that are important to this forum arestrategic enclosureexternal considering. (Download the pdf ofCassWikifor the definition of the highlighted words/concepts)

You'll also find frequent references on the forum to the"Big Five" psychology books, which are extremely helpful tools towards acquiring a basic understanding of your own "machine". Should you decide to explore those books at some point in the future, Laura suggests that they be read in the following order:The Myth of Sanityby Martha Stout; The Narcissistic Familyby Stephanie Donaldson-Pressman & Robert M. Pressman;Trapped in the Mirrorby Elan Golomb;Unholy Hungers芭芭拉长的矮;和Character Disturbanceby George K. Simon.

Please note that the issue ofhealth and wellnessis also important if someone wants to clean his own "machine". So, after reading the diet and health board and wiki articles, if you want to go further, we encourage you to read some of the most imporantrecommended books on health and diet. Among the top ones to consider for diet-related matters are:Primal Body, Primal Mind(Nora T. Gedgaudas),Diet Research of the Cassiopaea Forum,Keto-Adapted(Maria Emmerich), andThe Vegetarian Myth(Lierre Keith). We also recommend the bookWhen the Body Says No(Gabor Mate) for an understanding of stress (including hidden stress) and the mind-body connection. These books synthesize much of the information rather nicely.

注意,有一些地区“禁区”forum that are restricted to all but active forum participants, and we ask you to please keep the noise down. You will also not be able to edit your posts until you reach a minimum of 50 posts. In that respect, it pays to use the "Preview" button prior to posting your message so that you can see how your post will look to others.

Please note that on each section of the forum, you will see a sticky topic at the beginning of the list of topics. This sticky topic called "Important threads - "Name of the section of the forum" contains all the important threads that should be read by all members.

Finally, there is so much information on this forum that before beginning a new thread or asking a question on a subject, it is recommended to use either the quick search function at the top of the page or the more advancedsearch functionon the menu function.

Looking forward to your participation.

P.S.: Also, if you're not aware of it, theSigns of the Times news pageis an excellent place to get your news. ;D

Hi Merlin,
When you post, after a while (a few minutes) you can re-open the post and make corrections if there are things you want to change. There is a button that appears to that effect. If it is too late to edit and you see it important to introduce those modifications, you can ask a moderator for help. It takes some time to get used to the different features of the forum but once you've done it a couple of times it becomes trivial.
Hope it helps.

In fact, I think that you have up to 30 minutes to edit your post.
