Erdogan is playing a dangerousand desperategame! I'm assuming, hismore resolute stepsincluded the Humanitarian air drop, which amounts toa planned "all or nothing" suicide mission? It's nothing more then a reckless power-play! Putin and Assad are not sitting on their hands - the Turkish-backed militants will drop like toy solders! It will be "all down hill for Erdogan" from this point on - he just handed the Syrian Arab Army and Russian Forces - the perfect excuse - to use equal force in the battle field?Force=Force!
Putin and Lavrov have repeatedly tried to reason with Erdogan - that his power land grab and greed would eventually lead to defeat.

Turkey will take more ‘resolute’ steps in Syria: Erdogan
2020-02-23 - In his speech that was televised by the NTV television channel, Erdogan noted that the operation is Syria was requiring serious efforts and claiming the lives of Turkish servicemen.

“Yesterday, I had talks with [Russian President Vladimir] Putin. Before that, I spoke with [French President Emmanuel] Macron and [German Chancellor Angela] Merkel. After that, we decided on our roadmap [on Syria],” he said.“We will take more resolute steps.”

He did not say however which steps it would be,
stressing only that Ankara “will not bend before global powers’ scenarios.”

Turkish-backed militants launch new attack in eastern Idlib

2020-02-24 - For the second time in a week, the Turkish-backed militants launched an attack to capture the key town of Nayrab in the eastern countryside of the Idlib Governorate.

Backed by the Turkish military, the National Liberation Front (NLF) and their jihadist allies began their attack on Monday by storming the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) defenses west of Nayrab.

According to preliminary reports from this front, the Turkish military is shelling the Syrian Army’s defenses around Nayrab, prompting the latter to respond with their own barrage of artillery in eastern Idlib.

2020-02-24 - The jihadist special forces attempted to storm the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) positions in the Idlib Governorate recently, resulting in heavy losses for the militants.

In avideoreleased on Saturday via Telegram, several jihadist corpses were filmed by Syrian Army reporters inside the Idlib Governorate.
The jihadists were in possession of new equipment and battle fatigues, which had some observers confused about whether or not they were actually Turkish military personnel.

In the past, the jihadist special forces have carried out attacks behind the Syrian Arab Army’s lines; however, this is one of the first times that one of their operations ended in complete disaster, leaving many of them killed or wounded.

Ankara announced the destruction of about 80 Turkish soldiers in Idlib, Syria. It is reported that 34 of them were eliminated by an airstrike of the Russian air force on a Turkish fortified point.

President Erdogan has urgently convened the security Council, and Turkish combat aircraft and F-16 fighters have been alerted to the air near the border with Syria.

According to eyewitnesses, the air force is noticeably more active over the country, which allegedly will relocate additional forces to airfields bordering the SAR to reduce the time of approach.

Ankara also accuses the Russian side of refusing to allow transport helicopters to evacuate the injured soldiers, who were taken out by road as a result.

At the same time, the Governor of the Turkish province of Hatay, which borders Syria, said that "Turkish soldiers were subjected to an air strike by the forces of the Assad regime in Idlib, killing 9 soldiers of the Turkish armed forces."

Currently, the situation in the Idlib zone is as follows: Turkish units went on the offensive together with the militants, that is, in the same battle lines, and therefore suffered significant losses.

Details of the "Russian Spring" was reported by a military source.

The official information of the Governor of Hatay province about 22 dead Turkish soldiers is extremely understated. More realistic figures-from a hundred dead and above-have already been leaked through Turkish social networks. Instagram Facebook and Twitter have been disabled throughout the country in order to prevent the real losses from being made public. The purpose of such actions is to hide information about the numerous victims in Syria from the public and the fear of a repeat of the events in Taksim square during the failed military coup that failed in 2016.

The news is updated
28.02.2020 - 8: 58
The Russian defense Ministry this morning issued a statement on yesterday's incident in the Syrian province of Idlib.

So, according to the representative of the Russian military Department, on February 27, terrorists from the Idlib de-escalation zone attempted to conduct a major offensive on the positions of the Syrian government troops in Syria.

Turkish soldiers who came under fire from Syrian troops were among the advancing Islamist militants.

In addition, quoting data from the Turkish side, the Russian defense Ministry said that"there should not have been any units of the Turkish army in the area of Behun in Syria, where they came under fire."

The statement said that Russian military aircraft were not used in the area of Behun.

After receiving data on Turkish military casualties, Russia has taken exhaustive measures for a complete cease-fire by Syrian troops.

Briefly about yesterday's aggravation
Recall that the official Ankara announced an attack on its troops in the Syrian Idlib "by the regime" - this is what Turkey calls the legally elected authorities of the SAR.

As the Governor of the Turkish border province of Hatay, Rahmi Dogan, said late at night, a total of 33 Turkish soldiers were killed.

After launching retaliatory strikes against the positions of the Syrian military, Ankara decided to consider the Syrian troops as "enemy targets".

Everyone was waiting tensely to see if Washington would support Turkey and what NATO's reaction would be, but at about three o'clock in the morning Moscow time, the state Department said that the US supports Turkey in connection with the situation, and Turkey recalled its membership in the Alliance, saying that yesterday's attack "was an attack on NATO".

Several dozen protesters gathered at the Russian Consulate General in Istanbul.

Facebook instagram, Twitter, YouTube, And Facebook were restricted in Turkey to hide the actual numbers of losses.

Morning came, but social networks in Turkey did not Wake up. WhatsApp also works intermittently

The States have already reacted and oriented themselves, calling on trump to "prevent the killing of civilians" by Syrian troops by imposing a no-fly zone over Idlib. This proposal was made in the Senate by Republican Lindsey Graham.

Turkish defense Minister Hulusi Akar arrived in the province of Hatay, which borders Syria, where he visited the headquarters of the tactical command.

Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan has played his long-standing blackmail card: he opened the gates to refugees and migrants to Greece and Europe.Turkish television channels have been broadcasting footage showing Syrian refugees and migrants from other countries walking towards Greece and Europe, after the Turkish Gendarmerie opened the Syrian gates in the night from Thursday to Friday.

The videos allegedly show two groups of Syrian refugees on their alleged way to Europe: one group in north-western Turkey, walking to the Evros land border with Greece. Another group is apparently in the Avalik area on the west coast in an effort to reach the island of Lesvos.

It seems that that the ‘refugees’ are not only from Syria but also from Iran and Afghanistan and migrants from African countries, like Morocco

Turkish officials said last night that they would allow Syrian refugees free passage to Europe, after 33 soldiers were killed and many were injured in Idlib following an air raid.

It looks like Erdogan doesn't want to give up his hold of Northwestern Syria around Idlib and Aleppo and by all accounts is protecting the jihadists and 'rebel groups' in Idlib. He seems pretty adamant on staying and annexing parts of Syria despite coming to an agreement withPutin in Sochito uphold Syrian territorial integrity and sovereignty. I've read some articles stating Turkey is already developing infrastructure in the parts of Syria they are in control of and they are even willing to come to blows with Syria and possibly even Russia?! This seems like a potential powder keg situation and luckily the Russians have a cool head because Erdogan is a fractious leader that jumps ship from one ally and situation to the next. Here he is discussing expansion of Turkish territory which is a delusional proposition considering how volatile things are in the Middle East.

Erdogan may soon discover - he made some very grievous miscalculations? Legally and by approval by both, Assad and the Syrian Government, Putin is in the driver's seat and is not going to step aside and back down for Erdogan! Erdogan has no legal Authority to be on Syrian territory - militarily. He knowingly placed his proxy Troops on a suicide Mission towards a direct confrontation with Syrian Troops, so he could use the cannon-folder as an excuse to forge ahead and push the Syrian Arab Army and Russian Troops out of Idlib.

Erdogan hit over 200 known targets with aircraft, drones and artillery. Syrian military sustained a heavy loss in armor vehicles, tanks and the destruction of 5 helicopters and 2 air defense systems. If Putin didn't have "a cool head" - Erdogan would look like Swiss Cheese right now and his proxies would have been blasted back to the Stone Age!

Situation in Idlib does not give NATO cause to retaliate — Russian foreign minister

The situation in Syria’s Idlib does not give NATO cause for joint retaliation in accordance with the alliance’s fundamental documents, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Friday.

NATO are itching to justify their existence. Trump says he wants his troops out (yea right). as an excuse to get NATO more involved. After all it occupies Europe. Why not extend that occupation a bit further.

Hopefully, Lavrov's reminder on the nature of NATO's existence will wake up a few European leaders to the folly of giving them a justification to proceed. Itappearsobvious Turkey is trying to drag in Western powers, either through massive bribes from U.S., or his own play for power. That this is playing out on 3rd party territory gives the upper hand, legally, to RUSSIA and SYRIA. Will anyone care.??
